i did notice in the background of the picture there seems top be a young lad behind one of the men and was wondering if perhaps he threw the ring/wheel towards the camera hence making it bigger than what it really is...

Yes I remember reading something about Sir Barker and his brilliant band of students, I think it was the beginning of April last year.

....it certainly was Jem the name of the chap who wrote the piece escapes me just now
