I think he was Meg, but as you know squirrels are partial to birds eggs if times are hard. I think it used to be a bird box but they gnawed away the opening to get in.

We have bird boxes hanging in woods and wildlife reserves. They have taken the precaution of having the entrance to the bozes surrounded by metal plates to stop the little blighters from gnawing their way in.
