I am always amazed that most photographs look like here UK.Green fields and trees, its when its Desert and vaste mountains then I look again.

It looks lovely Bruce I used to know someone who emigrated there and found it a great place to live.

A lot more trees than in the UK and none of them are deciduous but Tasmania is in the roaring 40s so not really suitable for desert. Not many crops of poppies for opium, convict built bridges, rain forest or copper mines in the UK either. I don't think you were looking very closely.

To be honest it is not somewhere I would like to live, too expensive and too cold (ha, ha does sound like the UK ) but OK to visit once.

But here is a little truck in bit of desert in the Northern Territory.
