I was going to put this in the Fun Stuff, but as it came out of a Guide for Women in the 60s and not meant to be funny I put it here.

I'm afraid, however much I'd love that to be true ( and by god,I wish it to be so!), there is no way that particular document would ever see the light of day, at any time soon. As one who was about in the 60's, can't seem to to have heard of its existence. Got to be a wind-up!

Gosh I would have guessed that was an article from the 1860s

I can't remember seeing any woman dress like that in the 60s. It has to be from a much earlier period in time.

I would not let the men read this, they may think us women are a walk over.
This has got to be from 1860, I was only little in the 60s. But I am sure most women would have laughed at this article.

I loved the bit about the " husband suggesting congress" but I'm not so sure about the "more unusual practises"
