Sky TV

Today I had an email from sky, that they are going to put my package up by £2-50 per month. I already pay them £1200 a year on average.
This package is for HD TV. Broadband and telephone.
We have decided that's it, we have had enough of continual price rises, when everybody is on a squeeze with food prices rising etc.
I should be interested in any ideas to get a good service without feathering Murdoch's nest.
Any ideas folks?

Re: Sky TV

We have never wanted Sky being quite satisfied with Freeview. We watch little of the commercial channels preferring the offerings of the BBC, and more than happy to pay the licence fee if it keep the awful ads away.

Re: Sky TV

Hi Arthur I don't have pay to view TV , there is enough rubbish on the existing channels for me

I pay BT for my line and my Internet Service is just £5 a month with free evening /weekend calls so all in all I pay about £20 a month £240 a year.

Re: Sky TV

I remember years ago toying with the idea of Sky. But in them days you could just have the TV and not one of them all-in-one packages, which they use to make it harder for you to come out of.

I'm just glad I didn't bother. There is very little on Sky I would pay money to watch. I'm not into sports, so there isn't much else worth paying for. I could use the broadband speed, but I'll stick to my own ISP for now.

Re: Sky TV

I've got Virgin which I think is better than Sky if you are in a cable area. When I move to Norfolk though I will be buyng a freesat box which has more channels than freeview and just get Virgin to do broadband down the phone line.

Re: Sky TV

I have HD TV, broadband and phone free evening and weekend calls, from Virgin. Have XL package, No sky sport or sky films. Get 3 film channels, and their are film on the other channel too. We use the On Demand channel a lot for programs that have been missed. On average I pay about £660 a year.

I also phoned them after my year agreement ended. To complain, and said I was thinking of leaving them. They dropped my price a bit and gave me a hub for nothing.

Re: Sky TV

used to have sky but canceled it , it was ridiculous the price and all the bits kept going up, now I just watch ordinary TV and have BT for the phone and PC.

Re: Sky TV

I only have freeview TV, I have the same as Meg, but with Orange, I pay £22.75 a month, and that includes ALL phone calls, even 0845 numbers, The only calls I have to pay for is calls to mobiles and international calls, which I never use.
