Royal Rip-off!

It is now the second time in a number of years this happened to me. I sent my daughter a birthday card and enclosed a Next gift card worth a considerable amount. At the same time, sent my son-in-law the same, as his birthday was a few days later.

Daughter rang to tell me, she'd received SIL cards but not hers. I was fuming! But, nothing can be done because I hadn't sent it recorded delivery. In future, I shall be sending such items recorded delivery, but I feel the cost of postage is enough as it is.

Maybe it will turn up tomorrow. I have sent letter, which have arrived on different days.
Probably a good idea to send recorded next time. Post is a bit of a rip off these days. That's why most people use e-mail.

Carmen was the gift card in a Birthday Card type envelope ?

I have had a number of greetings cards 'go missing' and have also failed to receive a number sent to me.

There was a programme on TV a while back showing what goes on in some GPO sorting offices so I am not surprised by this anymore .

Yes Meg, it was enclosed in a Birthday Card type envelope.

Shaz, I posted these Friday 15th, and daughter received hubby's on Saturday. Still nothing as of today.

Re: Royal Rip-off!

Carmen, this happened to me as well recently. Sent two birthday cards to Germany, one for my Niece and one for my great-Nephew, both to the same address. My Nephew's card arrived but my Nieces didn't-where that disappeared too we'll never know, fortunately I didn't put anything of value in the cards. My Sister sent a present over as well for the little one, and it took 11 weeks to arrive and that was sent by special delivery! The Royal Mail service is going down hill quickly....
