Tree Rat

Wandering in my back yard today I managed to get "Rocky" to sit still long enough to get a snapshot of him. They're relatively tame but jittery at times.

Great capture Bob!

Eileen (dandysmom)would have cringed at that photo, she really hated squirrels and called them "Devil's Spawn"!

I certainly remember Eileen's hatred for squirrels. In a way that's why I chose the title, "Tree Rat".

Re: Tree Rat

I know ....... soon as I saw your squirrel Bob I thought of Eileen, goodness she absolutely loathed them didn't she? Lovely photo as usual, I love ours in the garden, up to all sorts of antics. Now that I am closely watching a blackbirds' nest they've built in such a silly place in full view of all predators they may not seem so endearing soon.

Re: Tree Rat

I sometimes manage to get decent photos of these little fellows. They often get confused with squirrels but are in fact edible doremice(so I'm told.) We have a lot of them around here, also squirrels, mostly grey but some red. The edible doremice have white cheeks and are more sort of solid than the squirrels. I think they are really cute.

Re: Tree Rat

Clumsy, it looks just like a squirrel with those ears but it's a good picture.
Yes, I too thought of Eileen
