Are you a hat person?

I'm definitely not. I'll wear a sunhat while canoeing and camping because it's sensible but I just don't feel comfortable sporting one any other time.

Some folks look great in hats... do you wear them? How many? What types?

Re: Are you a hat person?

I dont wear hats, even when we go walking over the cold fells in winter my head is uncovered.
Like men with beards, wearing a hat shows that a person is hiding something.

I wear a sunhat if necessary, and a hat in winter if very cold. I never wear a hat for any other purpose as I dislike them.

Never. I hate them period. I don't know why, but I detest them and could never imagine a time when I would remotely consider wearing one.

Re: Are you a hat person?

I wasn't, but as my hair thins and exposes the top of my head, in summer I need a 'panama' to stop getting sun stroke. Many years ago, whilst in Russia it was bitterly cold, and a fur 'shapka' (a hat with ear flaps) was an 'essential' to stop your head from freezing. I now wear the shapka in winter, if its cold enough and the Panama in summer (if/when) the sun shines.

Never did like wearing anything on my head. Maybe its because I've got a reasonable head of hair. Besides, I've always thought small guys look a bit daft with a hat on!

Re: Are you a hat person?

My son bought me a "Trilby" hat last year, I wore it once at a race meeting, but never since. Back in the fifties a man wasn't dressed if he didn't wear a hat, just look at all those old films.

Re: Are you a hat person?

I don't like hats but did buy one to wear when we went to Egypt one year. Temperatures were reaching 100ºC there so I thought I would wear it when we visited the Valley of the Kings. As soon as we alighted from the coach, on went the sunhat ....... less than half an hour later I took it off and stuffed it in my bag! I just couldn't stand wearing it any longer, I like to feel freedom on my head!

Meg, I too have a coat with a hood attached but have never worn the hood up on it!
