New England Manager

I've seen all the TV interviews, the F.A. management rationale and the general public reaction. So, I feel free to sum up the boardroom discussion that resulted in the appointment of the new England Manager.

"We may as well appoint Hodgeson because Cappello nearly bankrupted us and there's nothing left in the pot. Besides, we never win anything and expectations are at an all time low - so let's not disappoint the England fans. He can speak English after a fashion and he's got a house in the midlands (whilst he was saving West Brom from relegation) near to our £100 million white elephant training facility. Oh! And by the way, he's out of contract (unlike Harry Rednapp) so we won't have to fork out £millions in compensation to Spurs. All in all a great appointment; chink chink, cheers all round!"

Just like politics and politicians, when you compare the two together.

Re: New England Manager

At least he's English, so even if he's rubbish he's no more of an embarrassment than having a foreigner in charge....

Re: New England Manager

Untill we have more english players playing for our premiership clubs, the england managership will always be a poison chalice. we compete against the likes of spain who limit the number of foreign players in the domestic game- hence their national team is strong, experienced and cohesive. fix our domestic game first!!!!!!

Re: New England Manager

If it's true that Harry Redknapps wife refused to allow him to take the England job then I guess they were scratching around for someone crazy enough to accept.

The bit about HR's wife maybe just another newspaper lie but it did make me smile, behind every great man there is an even greater (and smarter) women
