Swans and Cygnets

Managed to get to Abbotsbury Swannery in Dorset today and took a few pics. These Cygnets are only a few days old. There was a male swan guarding the female to stop anyone getting too close, but luckily I have a good lens which brought in the images without disturbing them (I was actually about 6-7ft away), otherwise I would have got honked, hissed and pecked at. Fortunately, they are very used to people and quite tame.

Absolutely gorgeous, Graham. I loved the first photo best, but they're all beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing those with us.

Re: Swans and Cygnets

Lovely Graham. I can never understand why cygnets were once called ugly ducklings. They are so cute. I have had holidays on the Norfolk Broads when all the bird life has had its young and I love it
