Happy St. George's day.

To everyone. Will anyone be celebrating it as the Irish do, with a few drinks.

Unfortunately not, a very busy day today which includes a lot of driving. I think there will be a lot a revelry around though enjoy St Georges day however you spend it.

Re: Happy St. George's day.

I want to know why we should celebrate the life of a Romano-Turkish Centurion reprobate who had no contact with and knew nothing about England. A supposed saint 'foisted' on us by the Catholic church. Surely as a democratic society we should have a say in and a choice of who we choose to represent England???

Re: Happy St. George's day.

Good morning everyone .... and a happy St George's Day to you all! My Grammar school was called St George and every morning we sang the school anthem:

"In the days of old when knights were bold,
St George went forth to fight,
With his trusty steed and his sword of gold
And his armour shining bright..."

I wish I could remember the rest of it .... we used to belt out the song with gusto at morning assemblies ...... ahh those were the days!

Happy Saint Georges day to everyone.

mesco m. Did they have a St Georges parade this year in Manchester? It normally sets of on Varley St, Miles Platting, then into Manchester.

I can just imagine your version Uncle Joe.
