Eurovision

On the news this morning it has been announced that Engelbert Humperdincke is to be the UK entry. He is now 75 years of age What chance do you think he has of winning.

Re: Eurovision

Due to all the political voting thst goes on the quality of the song and/or the artist has little to do with who wins. Its a shame but it is not a fair contest anymore.

Re: Eurovision

Didn't know he was still alive, but I guess he's got as good a chance as anyone else...

Re: Eurovision

Ha ha I heard that as well and was quite shocked. But as has already been said its so political there's no chance he'll win but it will be interesting to see what does happen.

I heard this and had to look at the calender to make sure it wasn't April 1st

I never could stand the man when he was younger and found him creepy <<<< shudder>>>> I don't think he will have improved with age .

Not sure if we have ever come last in the competition, this year could be a first .

Re: Eurovision

I never liked Englebert either, I found him too smarmy ..... much preferred his rival at that time, Tom Jones!

UK have come last on three occasions - 2003, 2008 and 2010 so they should be used to it by now!

Re: Eurovision

I hadn't realised that we had actually come last, thought we had come quite close to it. I guess they are trying all options, young, trendy, new, and now they are trying a different approach. Hmm I was also thinking about Tom Jones.

I guess if they really want us to win they should go for Take That, Cold Play etc which would give the political countries a run for their money

Nor can I Mags, also from the older voters. He gave me the creeps.
