Hotel In Cumbria.

Has set up a camp site on its grounds,

With your own private butler service.

What do you reckon of that?

If you look up, is this the best camp site in Britain, it should come up.

I don’t know how to post a link...I thought it was rather bizarre, a posh butler serving drinks, to members of the public in their hiking gear..

It just don’t look right?

Probably the hotel is cashing in on how things are with holidays following the lockdown and some countries not accepting holidaymakers. Holidaying at home seems to be the answer. However, caravan and camping sites are it seems fully booked with prices increasing, some of my family members have been trying to book recently.

The hotel you are posting about Pauline might be this one, it's described in an article in The Times newspaper (well, it would be wouldn't it). A free trial of the newspaper is required to read the full article (apologies, don't blame me, I only found the link ):

If the above is not the one, then you might find it on here if you wish to trawl through the listings:

Re: Hotel In Cumbria.

Weirdly, no mention of it on its website.

https://www.thesamlinghotel.co.uk/

However, it's not really camping with people strolling around in muddy boots.

It's glamping with 2 available units.

Maybe it's just a publicity stunt?

I just thought the butler looked completely out of place in that surrounding,Baz.

I agree about the cashing in...I wonder how much they charge for butler service?.

Re: Hotel In Cumbria.

Baz,I was quite surprised to learn that some butlers aren’t paid as well as I thought they would be.
My son earns much more than them.

But, then I read that some in America are paid much more.than here in Britain.

Remember Paul Burrel?

Princess Diana’s butler.
