Manchester bombing

Hthis came up on my fb memories today. A poem I wrote when the Manchester bombing happened

Senseless

Excited young faces in the crowd
As they watched Ariana perform
Cheering one moment, terrified the next
A demon had caused a storm

Children, parents, brothers and sisters
Were plunged into a horrible nightmare
Crying and screaming, frantically fleeing
The news was so difficult to bear

Reports of a bomb in Manchester Arena
Were shouting from our screens
People were fleeing for their lives
We could hear the bloodcurdling screams

We witnessed the panic, felt the tension
People all around were crying
Stunned and shocked, in sheer disbelief
People were falling and dying

A monster came, took innocent lives
For why? It makes no sense
Those poor souls, were cruelly killed
They simply had no defence

As a new day unfolded, realisation set in
It wasn’t a nightmare at all
This really did happen, unbelievably so
Those innocents, they really did fall

The perpetrator, a cowardly monster
He died on the same fateful night
For eternity we hope he burns in hell
While our innocents reached heavenly light

Re: Manchester bombing

You captured the horror of it all but he won't burn in hell and they won't reach the heavenly light. That's the grim tragedy of it.

Grim tragedy indeed. One can only hope somehow he is suffering for eternity

Such a monstrous thing to do ...death was too good for him. I hope his brother who helped him is never released.
