Does Anyone Still Wear An Apron/Pinny?

I remember years ago, many ladies wore an apron, or should l say, a pinny, all day!

Years ago, the only time l wore an apron was at Christmas to prepare the meal.

Then there was a fad, where men started to wear aprons, usually comical ones with a ‘bra and panties’ illustrated on them. For authenticity, some men would even wear a chefs hat!

I remember older, granny type ladies would wear a wrap around pinny.

Then there were those apron type things that went over your head and did up at the sides.

I don’t wear an apron, l just wear my comfy scruffs for cooking and put my hair in a ponytail... there’s nothing worse than hairs in food!

What about you, do you wear an apron?

Not for cooking...I have worn one for gardening if its a dirty job I'm doing, but I end up taking it off because its in the way. I do like the idea of aprons though, its a very granny comforting thing isn't it?

I always wear an apron for cooking and, if alone, keep it on for eating .....

Apron No but I do have a Tabard that I've worn on occasion. Often when I'm using the clippers on the dog to get his coat off. Just trying to keep the hair off whatever top I'm wearing.

Aww, well I'm not a grandmother yet, and I also have no street cred, haha! so I don't care. I do recall my Nana wearing an apron when she baked though, hence the comforting thing. I would wear something like this though:

I have an apron I use when I cook a `proper` meal or if I do some baking (a rare occurrence these days). It has `Kitchen Slave` written on it and my missus bought it for me.

Any pics?
If not, please would you describe it. Is it made of cloth, or plastic? Does it have any writing etc on it?

Ooh Pixie, it hasn’t got a pocket! I used to only like them with pockets as so useful!

Tabard! Yes, Roxy, that’s the word l couldn’t think of when describing the one that goes over your head and does up at the sides.
