Does not understand me, that is understandable, but, she is tolerant, maybe she or I are waiting for a Eureka moment.

I hate that ...The Wife, I used to say to my late OH, I am not The wife, I am your wife, you should say my wife. I'm sure he just did it to wind me up.

I don’t have a husband. Nor, do l want one!
I prefer just having men as friends. This is the best arrangement cos you can send them home!

I don’t like the expression, ‘the missus’.

One time Surferdad and I started talking about how fun it would be to take up a mutual hobby. In due course, the idea of learning to play the guitar sounded pretty good to both of us.

After a few minutes of talking and getting excited about the idea, it became evident that while I was thinking about learning to play the acoustic guitar, he was thinking electric.

A discussion ensued in which I tried to convince him of the merits of a six-string, he was imagining giant speakers.

Suddenly he shouted, "I'm sure as heck wasn't thinking about sitting around a campfire and strumming 'Kumbaya!'" and I responded "Well, there's no way on God's green earth that I am going to rock out on some Fender!"

All went quiet as we stared at our glasses, shaking our heads.

Needless to say, he went back to working on boats, and I went back to surfing and painting.

He thinks I'm nuts. I know he is.
