Christopher Plummer, the actor forever associated with the film the Sound of Music died last Friday at the age of 91.

An excellent all-round actor - I remember him as Klingon warrior Chang in Star Trek VI, who could turn his hand to many diverse characters. He was the oldest actor ever to be awarded an Oscar at the age of 82 for his part in the film Beginners.

One of my earliest crushes even as a child. That dance scene has to be one of the sexiest intimate romantic moments in cinematic history, more so than when Mr Darcy and Lizzie Bennet first clasp hands in the Colin Firth version of Pride & Prejudice.

RIP to a legend, what a fabulous career and legacy. Working until almost the end. I didn't realise he was Canadian. Always thought he was a Brit for some reason. That perfectly clipped accent.
