Yes, it's a shame, but it seems that hardly a week goes by now without hearing that some old rocker from the 60s has diedA story I heard is that in the early days of The Animals, when they were playing in some of the rougher pubs & clubs around Newcastle and the North East, if the audience started booing, jeering, and getting stroppy, Eric Burdon and Hilton Valentine would stop playing and set about them with guitar straps and microphone stands

I remember watching a documentary about the 1960s, and the commentator said -
I am forever grateful that I lived during that magical time when Mod changed to Hippy
