How many Steps a Day?

Hi

My sister is shielding, has been since the start.

She has already done 5432 steps this morning inside the house.

I have managed 618 steps so far.

Are you getting your daily 10,000 steps?

How would I know? Are we supposed to count each one? That could send us all to sleep!

Use a smart phone, or a Fitbit or similar, or just walk for an hour and count your paces (should be about 8000) then you know a quarter hour will be 2000 or so.

This won't work for dog walking if the dog is on a lead.

Hi

I have a Smart Watch with an activety tracker.

A very useful thing to have,

I also have a wearable pulse meter and saturated oxygen monitor.

I also have a medical grade blood pressure monitor.

Re: How many Steps a Day?

I have a pedometer that I use on walks and know one walk measures exactly a mile (approx 2225 steps for me) .

I know I walk approx 5500 steps in the winter on 2 walks (and over twice as many in the summer ) and additional steps walking around the house and garden .

Your correct there Meg, at 5ft 10" tall, my paces per mile are 2100, I am a walking nerd so, not trying to be Pedantic.
