My sister gave me this Harvey’s Bristol Cream Sherry. She and her husband got it out of her husband’s aunt’s house when they cleared it after she died.
I want to make a sherry trifle and wondered if it will be safe to use? It has never been opened.
Maybe someone might remember when the label was current?
Or does sherry keep over the years if the bottle is intact?
Gosh Cinderella, When l saw the pic with the stain on the front label, l thought it was the same bottle!
So it looks like other people get old bottles of sherry from elderly people’s houses!!
I agree with the person that said taste it. It's a fortified wine and alcohol either tastes good or foul but bacteria and viruses cannot survive in it (think of your hand sanitiser). If it tastes foul, chuck it otherwise enjoy it. Easy as!
Don't people drink expensive bottles of wine that are centuries old? I would taste it Arty I'm sure it will be OK. If it tastes foul send it to Pauline she could give it to her man friend...serve him right
