Growing Up.

Hi

Nadi, one of my pretendies has a birthday on Wednesday

A sign of the times.

She loved presents, but now wants money to pay for a new mobile.

She will be 11 on Wednesday.

How soon they grow up now.

Last year she wanted a Harry Potter Book.

Just say no. That sort of thing should be bought by parents quite apart from the cost is that parent/s might not want the kid to have one yet.

I think 11 is a bit young for a mobile, unless it’s a basic one.

To each their own. My son had his own mobile when he was 11. (He's now 24) Yes it was a simple little one - not a smart phone. But we felt good that he had it.

Re: Growing Up.

When l think back, l was still playing with my dolls when l was 13.
Kids grow up faster these days. Let her have the mobile phone. She will be starting secondary school soon and may need the phone for her parents to contact her, or for her to contact them if she misses the bus or has to stay late at school etc.

I would say, get it for her for emergencies and safety reasons. That’s if the parents say it’s ok.

Re: Growing Up.

If I had an 11 yr old child, they would not get the latest mobile phone, especially as they could surf the net on it, opening themselves up to all sorts of pervs, / predators....
A basic phone yes, let them take a little bit of responsibility.

Re: Growing Up.

Hi

Mum is buying it and will have a Parental Lock on it.

Sadly, like so many these days. Mum and Dad are divorced.

Nadi wants a better one, so money from birthday is important because she needs to pay Mum Back for the one she wants.

She is an enterprising young lady.

She has offered to clean my house for £5 an hour. half what Mum gets.

Not bad for an 11 year old , she will go far in life.

As far as Pervs are concerned, she does not like boys and only kisses her dad and uncles.

Granddad she only shakes hands with.

A very savvy young lady.

Hi

Boys are much easier to buy for than girls.

Jacob just wants a bigger TV to play his games on.

Before Nadi went to Poland for Lockdown everything had to be pink, then it went to purple, now it has to be black.

No idea at all what it will be be by Wednesday, so simpler just to give her money.

She is driving her Mum round the bend.

Last week her favourite meal was a McDonalds.

Saturday she became a vegan.
