Drink driving

This message is very appropriate right now as an excellent reminder for all of us....
I would like to share an experience with you all, about drinking and driving. As you well know, some of us have been known to "tipple" during this time of the year. Well, it recently happened to me.
A couple of nights ago, I was out for a few drinks with some friends and had a few too many beers and some rather nice claret. Knowing full well I may have been slightly over the limit, I did something I've never done before - I took a bus home.
I arrived home safely and without incident, which was a real surprise, as I have never driven a bus before and am not sure where I got this one.

MERRY CHRISTMAS ALL.

Ps.. I do take this subject very seriously but nevertheless I also found the little story funny.. Hope no one is offended.

Re: Drink driving

I think it's a comical little story and no offence taken by me.

Of course, the subject itself is extremely serious and sadly there are far too many people who "think" they can drive just as well, or even better, after drinking, which is certainly not the case.

I've never driven after drinking alcohol in my life because:

a) I'm only small, alcohol does affect me quickly
b) I couldn't live with myself if I killed someone
c) Most importantly, I'm never in that much need of a drink

Last Christmas Day I went to our David's. He picked me up because of the bad weather conditions, but paid for me a taxi back home. That's the first Christmas Day when I've had a few glasses of wine with them because I've always driven in the past.

Re: Drink driving

What a clever switch ... a funny story and a good moral there. If, like me you do do drink but don't drive, be sure your designated driver is OK! Thanks for sharing that.

Re: Drink driving

Very good ! I also don't drink and drive because I would be lost without my car. I would rather pay out for a taxi.
