The Ministry Of Funny Walks... How Do You Walk?

When l was leaving the supermarket the other day, a woman was walking in. She was most noticeable by her walk. I think l would describe it as a ‘swanky’ walk. It was like she was really full of herself or on the catwalk!!

It made me think about the way we walk. Do we walk the way, we have always walked or, do we put a walk on?

So how do you think you walk?

1. Fast, like in a Marathon?
2. Slow like a snail?
3. Swagger, strut, as if you’re ‘it’?
4. Shuffle?
5. Bouncy?
6. A Silly walk?
7. You trip a lot?
8. Other?
9. You’ve never taken any notice?

Not marathon speed but I walk fast enough that I've had people remark on it. The walk home from the pub is slower.

Medium speed, head down (The Yorkshire way - found a pound last week!).

Fairly slow, because due to galloping arthritis I rely on a seated rollator to get me along on the pavements. I do not have much choice as the rollator certainly assists my progress and when I need to rest for a couple of minutes, the seat is there for me to use; without it I would be stuck at home and only going out in the car

My walk changes to fit the situation. If I'm walking the dog, I'm all over the place, zig-zagging to keep up with him. At work I walk very fast otherwise I would never get everything done in time. If I am walking in a dodgy area or late at night, I will put on a confident swagger.

One thing I have noticed is that most supermarket staff walk with a bit of a limp.

Pre Covid19 .....

I March into the Supermarket.....

..... then Amble around at a leisurely pace.....

..... Stagger a bit when trying to reach something off the top shelf.....

..... Tiptoe past someone who usually keeps me talking for hours if she sees me....

.....Saunter up to the checkout and have a breather

........ then Trudge slowly home with my shopping.

I used to be quite a fast walker but since my operation in June I've slowed down considerably. I now walk with a bit of a limp.
