Amazon

Really annoyed with them. I have used them for years with no problem at all. I have recently signed up to the Prime service which means you can get next day delivery free. This is very important to me as I work 4 days a week and need to know when things will arrive. So on Thursday I ordered a couple of things and they have not arrived today. It is doubly annoying because they were a secret santa pressie for our office team lunch on Thursday.

They may arrive tomorrow but I have to go out and do some shopping. I have stayed in all day today

Does anyone who has used the Prime service know if goods need a signature on delivery.

Thanks

Val

Re: Amazon

I can't help I'm afraid lass as I never buy anything online but, and it's probably an excuse, it is getting close to Christmas and I suppose they'll be busier than normal. Having said that, if you've signed for the Prime Service, then they should stand by their obligations.

Thats what I think Mollie. Its an additional service that you pay for so they need to get it right. It costs £49 a year and I have just paid for it after a free trial so not happy at present.

Re: Amazon

I can only speak for Amazon-US, never had that problem; I've had Prime for ages, no signature required here. I notice it was only a bit before 7:30 PM there when you posted, that's not too late; I've had a delivery as late as 10 PM. Hopefully it will come.

Thanks Eileen but we don't get deliveries that late in the UK so it will be tomorrow now. I am going shopping early and then will wait in a while before taking the dogs out. If it doesn't need a signature it may get through the letterbox. When I got my Kindle I chose express delivery which you pay extra for but they guarantee it will arrive before 1pm and I did need to sign for it. We will see what happens tomorrow but I am not staying in all day again for a secret santa present for work thats for sure !

Re: Amazon

I've just ordered a book for the wife's christmas present from Amazon. I was tempted by the prime service, but always found that goods ordered, normally get to you within three days or less.Lo and behold, my book reached me in two days. Why bother with Prime?

If you're retired thats fine but because I work mon -thur it means if I order something on a thursday it will arrive when I am at home. Especially good for items too big to go through the letterbox. Part of my order arrived this morning but the other item didn't so it will be monday now. Not impressed and customer service will be getting an e-mail for sure. Its even more annoying as the tracking says it is out for delivery by Wembley Van. I'm in Watford just up the road from Wembley so why can't they deliver today ??

Re: Amazon

I use Prime not so much for the speed but for the free shipping. I do almost all my shopping on line, a lot of it on Amazon, and have saved double and treble the costs of the subscription already. Very well worth it to me.
