A Really Bad Dream.

I had a really bad dream the other night,it woke me up twice.
And to top it off,I bit my bottom lip badly, you could see the bite marks the next morning.

My friend thought I’d had lip filler to my bottom lip.

Yet,I can’t remember what the dream was about afterwards.

Have you ever done any damage to yourself through dreaming?

That is a first time for me.....the only other time, was when my son heard me groaning in my sleep,it got so bad he said ,he had to wake me up.

I've always assumed that Humans are really walking computers.

That they store images & memories all day and then, when you're asleep, they go through them sorting them into the correct folders.

That's what I think dreams are, the sorting of images.

So what might you have done a day or two before?

Had a spat, with someone?

Or watched a Vampire Movie?

Very plausible suggestion.

It's really horrible at the time isn't it. You wake up with a real sense of foreboding. Even the next day when you can't quite remember what it was about, you still get the horrible feeling.

I don't remember ever injuring myself when dreaming but I do tend to shout swear words at the top of my voice. My neighbours say they have never heard me but I think they are just being polite.

Re: A Really Bad Dream.

I have dreams, some good some bad, but I’ve never hurt myself unlike mrs p, she once woke screaming in the middle of the night, fell out of bed and dislocated her shoulder ( and almost gave me a heart attack) a night spent in hospital where she had her shoulder popped back next morning..

Re: A Really Bad Dream.

Was under the impression that dreams are a way or rationalising thoughts whihch the conscious mind hasn't had the opportunity to process. Sometimes these might be unpleasant thoughts which require dealing with piece at a time (removing some bricks in the wall to deal with what's behind them), or more often to develop a schemata of linked concepts.

How many times have you gone to bed trying to work something out, but miraculously the next day you wake up with a solution/greater understanding. I know I have on numerous occasions.

Re: A Really Bad Dream.

I dream a lot, some very vivid, some quite disturbing that are hard to shake off when I wake up. I often wake myself up either talking, shouting or laughing in my sleep, in fact I woke up last night after saying something out loud
Can't say I've hurt myself though, that sounds painful, Pauline!
