Nice glass

I'm well chuffed with my new used lens ...

A perfectly good Micro Four Thirds tiny camera body (I might never use it) plus a stonking lens for £150

Five minutes before buying it, I popped into a top west end purveyor ... Lumix 7-14mm £839 new, £489 used.

The near ten year old camera doesn't have any true monetary value. This lens is a beaut. Here she is on my Lumix body. The whatsit ring is a bit dusty but it's clean inside ....

Re: Nice glass

So let me get this straight d00d....
You buy an old 35mm camera with an exceptional lens stuck on it that fits your digital camera....? And if you had bought the lens on its own, brand new, it would have cost 'Big Bucks'?
Yes?....

erm ... I bought a ten year old bottom of the range digital camera with an exceptional lens stuck on it that fits my latest favourite camera. The lens on its own normally retails second hand for 3 times what I paid in total.

Give me a few days to get used to it, and I'll show you what it's capable of.

Sorry d00d that camera looked like an old 35mm but I think I get the gist....
I look forward to your demonstration, I've never been disappointed in your work before...

Re: Nice glass

The design of that camera is loosely based on a Leica Rangefinder from the olden days. Retro.

Panasonic Lumix and Leica have some kind on partnership in camera lens making.

I look forward to your demonstration, I've never been disappointed in your work before...

Re: Nice glass

BTW Foxy

The system is called Micro Four Thirds (M43), with a digital sensor half the size of a full frame camera that has a sensor equivalent to 35mm film.

The M43 sensor is plenty big enough to print 20" x 30"

The lenses required are less than half the size and weight of those needed for a full frame camera.

Re: Nice glass

I love Panasonic cameras, but sadly have never ventured further than the Lumix DMC-TZ idiot proof range. I am not technologically capable of anything more complicated.

I couldn't cope with anything other than basic either Tiff.
That lens looks pretty though.
