Re: Winter Wonderland in the Lakes

Thanks Meg and Carmen. Meg, the photos were taken in January last year.

Re the frozen lake, it was on the local news about people walking on it and saying how dangerous it was etc. When I was there I saw families with babies and toddlers in pushchairs right out in the middle, people on bikes, skating, all sorts of things going on!!

As for myself... I did venture out just a few feet where it was shallow!! Apparently the last time it froze over was in 1995!

Re: Winter Wonderland in the Lakes

Great pics marian, the Lakes do look great in winter and make lovely cards.

Do you mean January 2010, I seem to remember most of the roads were closed last year due to heavy rain. 2010, we were stopped from walking over Catbells by a warden due to the snow and frost. I wanted to photo Derwent water from the top but had to do with the lake from Hawse end centre.
