credit note

Just had this email from a company

Thank you for your order from (company name).
If you have questions about your order, you can email us at sales@****.com.
Your Credit Memo (number) for Order (number)

It is really odd as the item I cancelled and got a refund was was back in the middle of May this year . So why would they send me a credit memo?

Could be I asked for more information. It did have all my billing information on it. My thoughts were office staff trying to catch up on back paperwork now they can get back to their office jobs

just got this email back from the company

I do apologise, it would appear that a site upgrade carried out last night has triggered some old emails, that had previously failed, to have been sent out.
I am sorry for any confusion this has caused,
