Jill Gascoine

It has just been announced that actress Jill Gascoine has died. She was 83 and died after a long illness.

Apart from appearing in some cheesy 70s sex comedies, she pioneered the way for women to appear in serious dramas, being the first ever woman to play a major role in a detective series as Maggie Forbes in the Gentle Touch.

I enjoyed her programmes and can remember quite fancying her at the time. It's weird to think she was now 83 though.

I used to really enjoy the gentle touch, I'm shocked she was 83, I always still think of her as a young woman.

Wow!..That saddens me. I had a huge crush on her when I was a younger man. I loved The Gentle Touch. Awesome character. Awesome actor. RIP.

I loved the Gentle Touch. Was it on Friday evenings?

She always seemed to talk through her teeth in a very flirty way. Is it any wonder why men loved her!

I remember her well in The gentle Touch. We used to watch it every week.

That curly perm hairstyle of hers was all the rage then.
