I found them fascinating, never seen one before, and the way it raises its tail, did make me think Scorpion...But are quite harmless...
I am one of these sad people that find insects interesting...

Insects are interesting; I'm with you there, Moli! Had a spell of wanting to be an entomologist in my younger days. That is one ugly beetle! Never seen one, although the link says we have them here.
