Bob Ross

I used to love this lovely man's programs, well, they're back on Vice channel on Sunday afternoons.
For anyone learning to paint they're marvelous.

I used to watch him too Tess. He was so interesting to watch (despite his hair) and made painting look so easy. Am I right in thinking he died quite a few years ago?

Yep, sadly died 1995. His son started doing the show but nowhere near as good.
I loved the way he told a little story about happy little things living here and there, also his rescued squirrels were so cute, as was his beard!

Bob Ross'sway of painting is very stylized and does look very attractive
I went to one of his tutors classes, and the paints and equipment from USA are expensive as he does say that you won't get the same effect with other paints.

Essentially it is Tapping with a loaded brush on the Canvas and quite noisy.
There is very little drawing and all the paintings do look the same
However it is fun to do to produce a painting

Sadly he died age 52 of Cancer.
