A few words of praise.

Went out with a friend and her hubby this morning. Stopped at the 'The Range' for a coffee - as we were leaving the cafe, via an escalator, her hubby - none too steady on his pins at the best of times - fell full length flat on his back.

Within seconds the escalator was stopped and a First Aid person summoned. Having established nothing was broken and we didn't need an ambulance, she and two male assistants helped M up. He was very embarrassed as the shock of the fall had made him wet himself. She shooed away the onlookers and brought a chair for M to sit and recover his wits - then helped him to complete an accident report. She sent one of the male assistants to fetch a wheelchair, opened a side door for us, walked with us out to the car, and helped settle M into the front passenger seat.

Everything was done so efficiently but with such kindness and compassion for poor M.

T dropped me back at my house and then took M straight on home.

I have sent an email to 'The Range' local manager and their HQ complementing them on their staff.

It's nice when someone takes over and shows compassion. When Mrs LD tripped in Vegas, the guy was straight out with a disclaimer confirming we wouldn't sue them. I hope M is Okay, probably a bit bruised now.

Full marks to the staff in The Range

Other stores should take note.

I hope M has recovered now from the shock.

Tried to telephone T to ask how M was - landline and cell 'phone both straight to answerphone. I hope that just means they're watching something interesting on the idiots lantern and nothing more sinister.

It's what you would expect from a proper British company...
They'll certainly get my business in the future...

Re: A few words of praise.

Poor man, I hope he's recovered from his shock.

Bravo The Range staff and great that you commended them Tabby.

I too would have done that, last year our holiday rep went out of his way to help me as I was ill whilst I was away and phoned me twice a day to make sure I was ok. That kind of customer service deserves recognition and I wrote to his company. They forwarded the email onto him and he was absolutely delighted. One good deed deserves another.

I do hope your friend is ok, I'm so sorry he was so shook up x
