Yosemite nat'l park

Yosemite Valley, California. At sunrise
The huge cliff you see at the center left, is El Capitan, 2,307 meters tall/7,568 feet . Believe it or not, there are men who climb it "free hand" without benefit of ropes.
The valley was carved by glaciers during the various ice ages.
The camera position you see is one of my favorite spots in Yosemite National park.

Been there amazing place. if I may be allowed to show a clip I took

Stunning views everywhere, a photographers scenic dream place. We were there in late November 2010 and I had a Nikon D300 only at the time.

Realspeed, fortunately, being there in November allowed you to miss the summer crowds. Hope you had a good time.

Awesome place! We were there in November 9 years ago, it was stunning, beautiful autumn colours, always meant to do a painting of it but never quite got around to it...
We saw some mad men climbing El Capitan, not sure if they had ropes or not, still bloody scary looking! Had to laugh, we were in a couple of tourist type shops there and they were selling a book titled, "Deaths in Yosemite" !

Re: Yosemite nat'l park

Those hills are begging to be climbed (only walking though) bakerman, but after the snow has gone, I hate the cold....Perhaps one day....

I watched a bloke on TV climb El Capitan solo and without ropes, I think he set the record of three hours....I read later in the year that he had fallen to his death while abseiling...
