You insult myself and millions of others who are both working class and Tory. I neither have, and never have had, a silver spoon "in my gob", nor do I live in a land of cuckoo clouds.

I have worked manually all of my life and have always voted Tory, because I believe that only with a strong economy and wealth creation at it's heart can the weakest in society be supported. Wealth isn't a dirty word, without it we would still live in caves. The system isn't perfect I agree, but greed isn't the preserve just of the right...ask Tony Blair, Mandleson et al...

Barry, Edwina Currie has made my case for me - no need for me to go any further. Since she was a former MP somewhere in the midlands - 1000s of people not only voted for her but were members of the Tory party too. With idiots like this in Parliament, is it any wonder that those of us sane enough feel (a) disenchanted with Parliament, (b) Have a disgust of dishonest politicians, (c) Have a belief that those who support them, are themselves either blinkered, ignorant and/or in need of psychiatric assistance.

Your self righteousness and arrogance is typical of all extreme socialists, who all purport to be victims of the state when the left is not in power. Socialism itself is a failed doctrine and it is sold to the unsuspecting public like a religion, by unscrupulous people out to make a good living from it....think Kinnock, Blair, Prescott and virtually every other labour politician that you could name, but I would see labour voters as victims of a clever fraud rather than call them stupid..

It is a fact that no modern society can exist whilst there are more takers than givers, or more spenders than savers. That is where we are now thanks to 13 years of total financial incompetence by the left, and no amount of extreme left politics will cure our present ills.

I agree with you that millions of people, and myself included, are totally disenchanted with politicians of all persuasions, but that disgust in itself is not the sole preserve of the left, nor is blinkered foolishness and mental illness the sole preserve of the right...
