Wonders of Fall

We're in prime time Fall in the Pacific Northwest. It's the most exciting time of the year for me and now I am retired and can dive in head first. We've got a few dry days left before the rainy season sinks its teeth into our lives so I'm out photographing as much of it as I can.

All of theses were taken on the same day as I strolled through the Portland Zoo. I've learned never to ignore the little things at our feet. Nature's simplest creation is more beautiful than anything made by man. Here was my prize capture that day.

You know, I've always had this yearn to cuddle up to a big cat like that - I know that isn't feasible though.

I was less than 8 feet away from him when I took the picture. Of course there was a Plexiglas wall there too.
