Superstitions

Are you superstitious?

I tell myself I'm not but I do find myself avoiding walking under ladders...

Let's have a reminder of of all the superstitions you can think of....

Re: Superstitions

Not cutting your nails on a Sunday, which I also apply to the animals!
Throwing salt over your shoulder if you drop some, or have some 'left over'

These are my main two + the ladders one.

Neither had I until about 15 yrs ago. Now I just can't do it. Cali, I noticed today, really could do with her dew claws being trimmed. She'll need to wait until tomorrow!

Re: Superstitions

A horseshoe over the door brings good luck.

Catch falling leaves in Autumn and you have good luck.

Re: Superstitions

Seven years bad luck for breaking a mirror.

A black cat crossing your path is bad luck.

Finding a penny is good luck.

Make a wish on a falling star and it will come true.

Step on a crack, break your Mother' back.

Good thread idea, Mags!

Unlucky to see one magpie, lucky to see two.

When finished eating a boiled egg, push the spoon through the bottom of the empty shell to let the devil out.

Re: Superstitions

Isn't there one about holding your collar if you see an ambulance until you see I can't remember what! Which is unlucky as we had three ambulances and a helicopter at the park today!
