Re: NSW on Fire
Thanks for this Bruce. Not all that far from where I live 3 fires have joined up to form a mega-blaze. Biggest I've ever seen. Heading for 400,000 hectares I think. We are still relatively OK where we are but the smoke is like The Apocalypse. A red- brown sky with the sun peeping through it a hazy orange orb. Below are pics taken from our front bedroom window today which is nowhere near as bad as yesterday when we could hardly see across the road.Re: NSW on Fire
Even here we are seeing signs of smoke atmosphere. It's awful to see this carnage on the news. We've had a few fires so far this summer but nothing anything like as serious, but they are predicting problems later in the summer. It's strange that we can have floods in Queenstown and drought in Hawkes Bay and Wairarapa. Best wishes to our Aussie mates.Re: NSW on Fire
21 Canadian fire fighters arrived in Sydney yesterday to help with the fire fighting efforts and give local crews time to recuperate.Re: NSW on Fire
