16 to 21 - The ages of all the top memories?

I've noticed that, when I'm with the other old Fogies, at the Golf Club, the strongest period for their memories was when they were between the ages of 16 and 21.

These are people who have had interesting jobs but, when they are telling memories they hardly ever mention their jobs.

Given any excuse, they will drag the story back to their times at College, in the military, national service, abroad, etc.

Is it because they were having fun, in their first break with their family home?

I know that my grandchildren have lots of "thrilling times" during their time at University.

Maybe Uni time will be where the memories come from in the future?

It's probably because they had few worries or commitments in that period. Also when you each 21, time seems to go quicker than the previous years. Let's face it, we all know what we were up to then.

Memories are a mismotch, studious folks have a categoric memory pattern, and, a habit of sticking their chest out, at every opportunity.

Odd, personally I think the best times and the best memories come from the mid 20s to mid 40s.

Far too much teenage angst and hormones in the 16 to 25 age (though the best music).

My best memories are of when I was innocent and the world was a magical place.
