Inner voice, do you have one too ?

I have an inner voice that sometimes argues with me and tries to make me do things I don’t want to do eg open a bottle of wine when I have already had my limit of one glass,
..buy a Snickers bar when I know I won’t really enjoy it and will regret it afterwards,
..say something to someone when I know I shouldn’t get involved .

Am I a little mad or does anyone else have an 'inner voice' like mine and what does it argue with you about or tell you to do?

That'll be the Devil Meg, you cross the road when you see that fella coming. Seriously, I'm glad you mentioned this because I'm the same and it sometimes gets me into trouble. If I'm enjoying the laugh in the pub and I know herself has the dinner ready, a little voice tells me to stay a while longer and have another pint, she'll understand, but she never does then all hell breaks loose, and I don't blame her, its entirely my fault. I think it's just temptation playing with us all and I'm afraid I'm guilty of giving in to it now and then.

I am pleased I'm not alone - I''ve often wondered - and I can now come clean - I also have a little voice inside me that eggs me on to do things and gets me involved with things I sometimes have second thoughts about later on. Its almost like it says "I dare you" and I usually do - just to "run the gauntlet" and see what will happen. It livens things up a bit. It's been there all my life my little voice and its got to be a little devil (why couldn't it have been a little angel instead?) I think I might be labelled immature, but do little angels have half as much fun? - I think not.

I think the same little devil lives in all of us ... mine is quite loud in my ear saying 'buy another packet of cigarettes' when I've decided to stop smoking or 'yes have another vodka' when I should be going to bed!

He gets to me in the supermarket too & talks me into buying unhealthy but yummy foods!!

My inner voice has a mantra: "chocolate is good for me..."

Meg what you are talking about is called 'The Moreish syndrone'.

You have a taste of something and the brain says I want more of that, beit, food, excitment, devilish acts of misdemeanors,etc.

We all have them.

Yes we definately all have that little devil inside of us, mine is usually when someone asks for my help and then they dont like the answer or the solution. I always tell myself never again,

Oohhh Yes lol. I often have quite lively arguments with mine. Sometimes I win and sometimes it wins.
