The French ....Start to Panic

Now panicking because a hard brexit means no fishing for them in our territorial waters, as they throw their toys out of the pram.

They won't ratify the Mercusor FTA either . . I told you this would happen. Ireland will do the same

Oh dear ....

If Boris is pissing off the Lefty-Liberal-Remainers, The Biased Broadcasting Corporation & the rest of the MSM, the French, and the EU in general, then he must be doing something right

I believe that the agreed position is that in the event of a no deal decision and due to the fact that fishing quotas are agreed 12 months ahead, the French will be able to fish in UK waters until at least December.

Fishing quotas are allocated in January.... by the EU currently.

We will be allocating them from January 2020 so the French have about 2 months left at best (if they are lucky). However, once we leave the EU on October 31st 2019 all the treaties are void so on 1st November there will be a lot of French fishermen rubbing their chins and fondling their onions.

It says what I wrote earlier in my post.

On 31st October the UK takes back control over all its territorial waters, allowing other vessels right of access under maritime law and the international laws that govern territorial seas.

At this point the CFP no longer applies and it is up to the UK Government how fishing for the French, Spanish (and others) continues as we will control the quota allocations, including species and TAC limits.

What Stephen Barclay is saying is that the CFP rules could apply until end December 2019 with the UK taking back full control then - it's up to us.

The French are starting to panic.

If I were french I would do what the dutch fishers have already done confidentially. Close deals with the welsh and scottish separately about their fishing waters.

I doubt that would happen - they would still need licenses and they would be horrendously and deliberately expensive
