B 52

We went out for out for a walk yesterday evening across the fields - a beautiful spring evening clear blue sky.
Suddenly I heard a loud roaring sound and a huge plane swung gracefully across the sky above us quite low.
It was a B52 bomber .
They are at Fairford and were out for a leisurely flight.
A magnificent plane albeit an instrument of death.
Like some massive prehistoric creature
What a sight to see!

They are indeed huge aircraft and surprisingly ancient - AFAIK, most are about 60 years old:
