I Am Thrilled

When I got home from work tonight I had a letter from my Building Society. I opened it and read it, and it told me that my account has now been closed and it now stood at zero.

To be honest, I didn't think my mortgage would have been paid off until the end of August, so this was fantastic news for me.

I feel liberated!

It is such a relief! To be free of that is just wonderful. I can now activate other things I was unable to do through lack of funds.

Congratulations Mollie, it is great when the mortgage is paid off, now you can carry on as though you still had a mortgage, putting it into another account and then when you famcy something just go out and buy it, no sense in letting a good habit go to waste.

It's a great feeling to be free from debt innit . . . . we paid ours off 20 years ago and I remember the feeling we had then.

Re: I Am Thrilled

Thats great news Mollie, now you can spend a bit more on what you fancy without having to worry. Don't be conned into something that involves a long drawn out financial outlay, these financial institutions don't like to see people debt free, it threatens their power.

Re: I Am Thrilled

Mine was paid off in '85; a wonderful feeling. I put most of the money I was saving per month into stocks for retirement; and some on just plain splurging!
