Council to Vote on Santa

Not sure if this should be in the Christmas Section?


What are your thoughts on this?

I have just seen that a local council in Co. Durham is going to have to vote on whether a woman should be allowed to play their Santa this year.
Someone wanted it "in the name of equality."

Another councillor says - "Santa Claus is a male role. Children will be expecting a male Santa."

So the council are going to have to vote on it.

No wonder they don't get other work done!


But what do you think? Would your grand children accept a lady Santa?

(Would a female Santa have a beard I wonder)?

There's got to be an elderly fat woman with a white beard somewhere in Co. Durham surely?

OK wise guys, but no one has said yet whether their grandchildren would accept a female Santa or not?

My friend was Mother Christmas for our calendar, we couldn't get a Father Christmas. She looked good! ( no beard)
Don't the Russians have Babooshka or someone?
I doubt if kids care as long as whoever gives them pressies.

Santa is Saint Nicholas - definitely male!

Father Christmas has to be a man, its a Santa Clause.
