The Sad Tale of a Failed Witch = Part 4 !
THE SAD TALE OF THE FAILED WITCHPart four.
Don’t look now - but it’s me again,
striving hard with might and main
as all Hallow’s Eve draws near.
I’ve acquired a book of spells (brand new)
and mixed a really malicious brew,
I’m going to make it this year !
Given an evil charm and half a chance,
I really will be there to dance
in the revels on Salisbury Plain,
and as for that interfering cat -
I boiled him in my old pointy hat,
we won’t see him again!
With my bats wing cape, mouse fur culottes
and a blood red crash hat to top the lot,
I should look quite a swell.
Technology now being so much keener
I swapped my besom for a vacuum cleaner.
I’ve heard they fly quite well.
The machine is switched from suck to blow,
gives a good lift-off, don’t you know.
I’ll just fill a flask with my brew
and throw some frog-spawn tarts
and a few pickled newts hearts
in a Tupperware box or two.
Resplendent in my bright new gear,
the time for blast off is almost here,
I can hardly wait to fly!
A flick of the switch, and away I go,
leaving the roof tops far below …
but something just caught my eye.
Looks suspiciously like the ghost of that cat,
dancing and waving my old black hat,
and weaving a counter spell.
That black hearted cat ! What evil luck !
He’s magicked this thing from blow to suck!
I’m being dragged down into …H..e..l..l…p !
