The most ridiculous argument

What is the most ridiculous argument you have ever had with someone?

Once I was cooking a special meal and I wanted to make some gravy. I asked my friend if I could borrow some cornstarch for the gravy as I was completely out of it. She just lives next door.

She said "you don't use cornstarch to make gravy, you use flour". I said "I do"......we argued on the phone. Then she hung up on me (after calling me stupid). I had to call her back to apologize for being so damn stupid.

Isn't that ridiculous? Why should I have to be the one to apologize......

Oh well, at least we salvaged the friendship and I didn't make the gravy......who needs gravy anyway......

Oh, so it WAS you eh Filly? LOL........just teasing you honey, hope all went well today with your appt. I am feeling a bit better today. I was so sick for the three days, I didn't think I was going to make it. I have to see the brain specialist next week so I hope we survive that Hallowe'en party this week-end........maybe we coud smoke a wee bit of pot? hahaha

Just kidding, we would have to be insane to smoke that. Some people are insane by smoking too much of that wacky tobaccy Filly......they take it instead of anti-depressants to medicate themselves, then they become daily pot smokers...the truth will be in the pudding when their brains get completely fried..........

Back on target here Filly, tell me about your worst stupid argument.......and it can't be with Gracie or Puss......or the other one (what is her name), can't remember, oh Marble.

In the early 70s I spent a year in India. In Calcutta I took a rickshaw from the railway station to my accommodation (including travelling over the Howrah Bridge). Before we left I had negotiated a price (which I forget) but when we arrived at the boarding house he said a different price.

For about 20 minutes we had an extremely loud but quite enjoyable slanging match renegotiating the price until I realised we had spent all that time arguing over 20p. I gave him a tip as well.

Re: The most ridiculous argument

Years ago,I was skippering a vessel named 'Vesta'. We were about to enter Wells Harbour and the pilot boarded. He asked why my ship was named after a box of matches! I tried to explain that Vesta was a Roman goddess, but he wasn't't having any...so as we brought my ship into the dock and berthed her starboard side to,we argued non-stop about the name of my command. To this day,he [we're friends and meet regularly] believes my ship was named after a box of matches! Trying to explain about the Roman goddess of the hearth just falls on deaf ears, even to this day. I know...bloody silly-but true.

Re: The most ridiculous argument

Custard one christmas. my grandad loved custard with his christmas pudding so my husband was making some for him, my mum took offence thought we were suggesting her custard was inferior and Ive never seen such a stupid argument in my life before or since. Ended with no one talking to each other for the rest of the day. It was the year we decided to simplify christmas and stop the insanity.
