Pret A Manger Inquest

Teenager Natasha Ednan-Laperouse, who had a severe sesame allergy died on BA flight after eating a baguette. The inquest was told that the company had made use of reduced allergen labelling requirements for shop-made food, which is intended to benefit smaller, independent stores.

There had been other incidents before this tragedy.

Cinderella, it is so, so sad what happened to that poor young girl. I see her parents and brother on television or in the newspapers and it makes you want to cry.

It is so tragic that someone has to die before anything is done about it.

Hi

It is a complete and utter disgrace, I am livid.

It is an example of the failed policy of Self Regulation and the Home Authority system, so beloved of Government and big Companies.

The EHOs involved have not covered themselves in glory, the cross examination of the Heathrow EHO was excruciating.

The FSA are keeping well out of it, as usual,

The last photo taken just before she became unwell is heartbreaking, so happy and excited.

As sad as this case is, if the that dead girl suffered from so many allergies, it probably wasn't wise for her to eat anything different to what she was used to. However, Pret A Manger should have labelled their products better than they did.

The new EU FIC requirements mean allergenic ingredients need to be clearly emphasised within the ingredient list.

Straight forward enough, makes no sense if it only applies to smaller businesses.

This is such a sad case, I can not imagine what it was like on that plane for the father watching his daughter die, knowing there was not much they could do, I understand he even rang her Mother and Brother up to say goodbye to her, just so tragic
They really should have had their sandwiches with correct information on the labels , especially seeing as there had been numerous other cases before hand

Does anyone know if she or her father carried an EpiPen? A much needed device for anyone prone to allergies that if used could have saved her life.

He applied two of them but sadly they had no affect on her, she then had a cardiac arrest so they applied CPR until the plane landed
