You can do, but most people have some common sense and don't give anything away that may be harmful in any way. You can still be honest and genuine without resorting to saying anything which is potentially dangerous.

It's those who are too secretive who I have little time for. Those who hide behind a mysterious facade. How can somebody like that be trusted if we know nothing at all about them?

I have learned that it is better not to say so much about your personal life as it can be misconstrued and twisted into something it isn’t at all.
In other words be careful what you say, as it can come back and bite you!!

Rather unfair there Floydy. Just because someone simply wants to be on a forum for a chat and to share music/recipes etc does not mean that they are untrustworthy.

I have good reasons why I don't give out information but even if I didn't I still would be very careful what I shared. Nothing mysterious about that, just sensible

Oh boy and can some people play act!!

I once befriended a woman who was dying of cancer - except she tried to log on under another name a few weeks after she'd 'died' and was found out.

Most people on here seem to be genuine but I guess you never can be sure.
