Butterflies.

I haven't seen a single butterfly this year - where are they?

Re: Butterflies.

With the very cold spring they had a poor start, bt now we are seeing improved numbers. Yet i think overall they will be down on the year.

We may get some .good numbers of migrating butterflies if the warm weather continues, such as Clouded Yellow and Painted lady.

Re: Butterflies.

I had what I think was a Red Admiral butterfly come in through the kitchen/garden door yesterday and come into the lounge. It fluttered about for a while then flew out through the lounge window. Very striking markings.
I have seen a few butterflies around this summer.

They are all here Carol. I have seen loads in the garden this week, mainly whites but a few admirals and a light green one which I need to look up (that might have been a moth).

Re: Butterflies.

A few around here too, mainly Cabbage Whites and Peacocks but I must admit there seem to be fewer than usual...
