Another Bouncy Castle Accident

Another child has died in a bouncy castle accident on Sunday,This is the second such accident. How terrible for the parents to be unable to prevent it,these are supposed to be fun for children ,not death traps

I believe it exploded with the heat, how awful for the childs parents and family. Something so innocent as letting your child on a bouncy castle to have fun and then it ends in death, unbelievable but sadly true.

Only 3, this dreadful things should be banned imo. At least until tougher safety regulations are made.

A terrible tragedy, I think they should be banned until the problem with them is sorted out.

We owned a bouncy castle at one time, we bought it for our Down's Syndrome son when he was young. We used to lend it to folk for their kid's parties.

This was actually a compressed air filled trampoline, different to a bouncy castle, which is kept inflated by an air blower.

Re: Another Bouncy Castle Accident

Sadness for the childs family.

There has always been dangers for children no matter how careful we are. You wonder how many were killed or injured playing on our bomb sites of which there were pleanty and the old swings and roundabouts were death traps for many of us..but we still played with many a scrape, bump or break

It was part of growing up and a learning experience for us of which children today do not have.

Sadly accidents will happen to children

Such a tragic accident to happen

Maybe it's time to look into the safety of these potential death traps

But don't let facts get in the way of a tragic tale.

Re: Another Bouncy Castle Accident

Purwell is correct, if it was an actual bouncy castle, this tragedy would never have happened under these circumstances as the air being constantly pump in and replaced would not have expanded. This air-filled trampoline is akin to jumping up and down on an airbed - ideally you would think they would have a built in pressure-relief valve to stop it being over inflated and in this case operated as a consequence of the air inside it expanding.

A tragic accident though that should never have happened whatever the circumstances.
