Off to uni at eight!

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-44668452

A Belgian lad of eight has finished his schooling in 18 months, and is now off to university. I feel rather sorry for someone so intelligent, any sort of normal life is likely to pass them by.

Child prodigies often have unfortunate later years.

Re: Off to uni at eight!

Children who who develop differently among the big four - physical, cognitive, emotional, social, can have unique challenges all their own.

It takes considerable awareness, effort, and support on the parents' part to ensure the happiness, healthiness, and success of children who are exceptional in any one of these areas.

How indeed would you keep feeding the brain of cognitively gifted child and help them navigate the university culture, for which the child is otherwise underdeveloped?

I hope the answer isn't to give them a beer.....
